Challenge.
Write for Rights, from December 4 to 13, will see hundreds of thousands of Amnesty International supporters and activists around the world sign petitions, letters, emails, text messages and social media posts calling for the release of activists imprisoned for peacefully expressing dissenting views. They will also seek justice for individuals who have been victims of torture or other human rights abuses.
Idea.
In the 2009 edition, a participatory website was created where internet users could take action online (post messages of solidarity to individuals, sign petitions, etc.), engage in direct dialogues with people in danger or their relatives invited by Amnesty International, download an action kit to participate in the event with family, at work, or with friends. The public could join Amnesty International for the long term and continue to follow the situations of the individuals for whom they took action.
